Get a taste of the three elements of Shikoku, the fourth largest, little visited island of Japan. First the Seto Inland Sea, riding the now famous, Shimanami Kaido. Next, the lush green areas, through the lower Ehime Prefecture and the Iya Valley areas. Enjoy some coastal riding on the Pacific side of Shikoku!

The riding is all of a moderate distance. Due to the topography of the island, some hills are inevitable, especially in order to avail of the best cycling routes.

The best cycling is on the secondary and even more on the tertiary road networks. For various reasons, Shikoku’s road system is funded and maintained disproportionately well when compared to the size and density of the population which is lower than Honshu. This is great news for cyclists!

When not riding, we cover ground by train. Japan is the land of trains. They are punctual and super comfortable and really do cover most of the country.

The riding on this tour is like no other. The cultural experience offered by the more remote accommodation is unparalleled in a Grasshopper Adventures tour and the all round travel experience of Japan will leave you wanting more.
